Trade was the salvation to ancient Rome whiteout trade what would they be who knows I don’t think I’d want to know. Ancient Rome was crossed with trade routes. It went from sea routes to land routes. Romans did as much as possible to make sea journey safe. They did things such as building light houses, safe harbors and docks.
The romans imported a whole variety of goods. Such as beef, corn, glassware, iron, lead, leather, marble, olive oil, perfumes, purple dye, silk, silver, spices, timber, and wine. The main trade partners were in Spain, France, the Middle East, and North Africa.
